Database Administrator
Overview
The database administrator will be responsible for the performance, security, and availability of databases and systems. This also includes maintaining and optimizing for performance, security, and scalability. Work directly with the Senior Database administrator to ensure our day/2/day operational requirements are met and provide customer support through our ticket systems.
What you will do:
• Installation and configuration: The DBA installs and configures database software to ensure it meets our standards. This also involves configuring the database servers, managing storage, and setting up user/application accounts.
• Database maintenance: The DBA performs regular maintenance tasks to ensure that the database runs efficiently. This includes tasks such as database backup, archiving, and restoring.
• Performance Tunning: the DBA monitors the performance of the database system and Identifies the issues. Work with Senior DBA to address performance bottlenecks. This includes tasks such as optimizing queries, fine-tuning database configuration, and monitoring resource usage
• Troubleshooting: The DBA troubleshoot database issues and resolves them quickly to minimize downtime. This includes such as diagnosing database errors, monitoring system logs, and working with developers to resolve issues.
• Capacity Planning: Monitor the database's growth and usage. Work with Senior DBA to plan for future capacity.
• Documentation: DBA maintains documentation related to the database system, including system configuration, backup, and security settings
• Availability: Available to work in a 24x5 kind of environment and will be available in case of any issues.
