Database Administrator
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or completion of a technical training program in software development programming language and 2+ years business experience
Required Skill:
· Technologies required: SSIS, MS SQL Server 2008
· Design, create, and implement database systems based on the end user's requirements using SQL SSIS management studio.
· Strong skills designing, developing and maintaining stored procedures, views, tables T-SQL scripts, creating associated documentation
· Perform data conversion and Server Migrations
· High level of OLTP an OLAP/DSS database administration expertise
· SSIS Advanced component experience is a good to have (transformation objects in data flow).
Job Description / Responsibilities
• Provide administration of database systems including installation, upgrades, configuration, consolidation, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance
• Plan, coordinate, develop and support ETL processes including architecting table structure, building ETL process, documentation, and long-term preparedness.
• Develop cross validation rules to ensure mapping accuracy.
• Provide production support of existing ETL processes.
• Document steps needed to migrate database objects between various environments including Development, UAT, Staging, and Production.
• Implement database backup, disaster recovery and high-availability solutions
• Maintain reporting and data integration processes using SSRS and SSIS
• Develop custom database objects (T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, tables, views, functions
• Analyze relational and storage engine issues and provide appropriate solution
• Implement monitoring solutions for analytical environment
• Fix any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures. Test databases and perform bug fixes.
• Use Excel to cleanse data
• Use SSIS to push data to DB. Use Transaction language to query DB and update data as required.
• Resolution of queries through interaction with on-site team
• Ownership of processes and client deliverables
• Regular communication with client stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
Desired profile of the candidate
A science graduate with up to 2-year prior experience working as Database administrator. No gaps either during education or between jobs. Well-versed with usage with advance level capabilities and knowledge of SQL Transaction language along with intermediate SSIS knowledge would be added advantage but not a necessity. He/she should have attention to detail and the initiative, drive and motivation to work for a young organization and grow with it.
