Database ADMINISTRATOR:
Location: Manyata Tech Park
Shift: 6 PM - 3 AM IST
Overview
A professional Database Administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
Responsibilities
• Installation, administrative and maintenance of SQL Servers of all environments.
• Design & Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
• Database migration, upgradation of SQL server.
• Configure & Monitor SQL backups using native backups and third party tools.
• Restore databases as per the user requests.
• Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
• Experience in database security management.
• Experience in TDE encryption.
• Experience in Security audits.
• Hands on experience on all High availability features.
• Extensive experience in always on with troubleshooting technology.
• Experience in DR activity.
• Provide proactive and reactive data management.
• Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
• Extensive experience in installation, administration and maintenance of MS SQL Server 2000 - 2026 versions.
• Administering SQL Server High Availability strategies.
• Experience in using DMV and dynamic management functions for resolving performance issues.
• Experience in database backup tools like commvault, Dell EMC avamar etc.
• Experience in Monitoring tools
• Hands on experience in database Migration & upgradation.
• Experience in SSL & TDE encryption.
• Experience in database migration from on premises to Azure and vice -versa.
• Experience in monitoring & troubleshooting the issues.
• Experience in interacting effectively with clients.
• Basic knowledge on POSTGRESQL, MAXDB,Vertex DB is a add on.
• Ability to work in shifts & overtime as necessary.
Qualifications
• Bachelors or equivalent education and work experience
• 5-8 years of experience in database administrator.
Supervisory Responsibility
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities
