Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Creating autonomous database backups.
• Resource Management: - Physical storage, Logical database structure, Memory resource management.
• Implement changes to production database systems in assistance of application deployments.
• Install, configure, and administer Linux database technology (MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle)
• Standby database management using Data guard / Manual OEM installation & configuration.
• Designing standard DB monitoring templates.
• Installation and Setup of Oracle software - Design, development, creation and administration of Oracle databases on logical/raw partitions - Database upgrades, Rolling upgrades migration, Cross Platform Migration - Configuring parameters and Performance tuning
• Monitor and tune the performance of Oracle database ongoing basis
• Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity.
• Planning, preparation, and documentation of maintenance activities
• Identify operational patterns and issues and creatively automate them.
• Taking ownership and leading the projects.
• Perform database development support and administration tasks in non-production as needed.
• Evaluate and monitor databases to resolve performance issues, minimize data redundancy and support capacity planning.
• Create/alter databases; replicate databases; perform day-to-day database administration.
• Design, implement and support database backup and recovery procedures.
• Aid customers and other staff members in resolving errors resulting from the use of applications.
• Recognize and analyze trends in errors with Senior DBAs to identify and install long term solutions to problems.
• Provide On-Call Support on a rotation basis.
Requirements:
• College degree in computer related field or equivalent experience required.
• Primary Skills: (MySQL and PostgreSQL) on Linux
