Roles & Responsibilities :
• Oracle Database Administration ( 11g, 12c)
• Oracle RAC and Data Guard database administration
• Creates & maintains all databases required for development, testing, production and training usage
• Database installations and upgrades, regular PSU & CPU patching for databases
• Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support
• Register for database alerts and follow-up on db alerts on regular basis and take action as necessary
• Drive the performance analysis and tuning for the database
• Hands on Experience in managing Complex Oracle Environments Spanning multiple Oracle Instances / Servers
• Hands on Experience in Backup and Recovery - RMAN.
• Monitor table and index growth and take proactive measures to maintain and tune storage allocation
• Enforces and maintains database constraints to ensure integrity of the database
• Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum up-time of the database
• Provide feedback to Development on needed improvements on serviceability
• Oracle troubleshooting and problem resolution. Must Have desire to troubleshoot and resolve complex Issues
• Operating System Knowledge on Windows / Linux / AIX
• Complete time sheets / Participate in Team status or Scrum calls
• Document work performed
• Interview new candidates

Assist Application Team for Following :
• Monitor performance and proactively tune queries and database objects.
• Assist in design for database modules
• Assist in performance tuning of database code(SQL & PLSQL)
• Assist in design and tuning of reports
• Perform code deployments (db code) in all environments except DEV
• Perform schema refreshes and creating new schemas
• Perform post production support, tuning and bug fixes
• Assist in Data Modeling and maintain Data Models
• Develop and maintain standards & procedures including and not limited to:
• Database Monitoring standards doc.
• Puts standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance. The DBA will perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the standards are being adhered to
• PLSQL/Database Development standards doc
• Data Modeling standards doc
• Database Road-maps doc
• Document best practices for Security, Implement security, USERS Access Controls
• Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
• High Availability and Replication design
• Database and Data Security

Capacity planning for databases and database servers :
• Estimate the database sizing using various estimation techniques or tools and produce the final estimates for tables and databases
• Monitor the CPU and Memory utilization of the db servers accordingly add more CPU or Memory for load balancing
• Involve in all Design calls to provide correct inputs related to database to avoid duplication or redundant data

Deployment & Support Activities :
• Prepare the rollback script incase of reverting the release
• Deploy DB related changes in Production environment
• Confirm the db changes are done appropriately
• Monitor the databases through OEM or AWR reports to confirm if there is no impact because of release changes

Desired Skill:
• Proficient in English with good communication skills. Co-ordination with internal and external teams required to get things to closure.
• Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required
• Willingness to participate in non-standard working-time models (some off-hours/ weekend work may be required at times
