Job Description
DBA is responsible for implementation, configuration and maintenance of Database environment including DBMS implementation, design, data extraction and problem resolution. DBA is also responsible to maintain data integrity, database security, optimization, database backup and recovery. DBA's own the database servers and responsible to keep them intact at any circumstances, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the Users/Developers.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the integrity of databases and ensure data remains consistent
• Prevent data loss, manage data security and disaster recovery aspects of a database (ensuring all data is retrievable in an emergency).
• Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
• Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
• Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security
• Administer database objects to achieve optimum utilization
• Monitor performance and manage parameters in order to provide fast responses to front-end users
• Install and test new versions of the database management system (not limited with SQL Servers)
• Provide ongoing database support and administration for existing or new applications
• Work closely with relevant stakeholders - Business analytics and project teams to deliver projects/Tasks in timely fashion
• Further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirement
• Make cost-effective decisions regarding data storage, maintenance, security, and analysis
Requirements
• Experience 3+ year's working with MS SQL Cluster, Windows server, including Active Directory.
• Hands on experience on Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, Replication and Always-on in all SQL versions.
• Hands on experience on SQL server hosted in windows clustering platform Experience and troubleshooting tools.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Migration of MS SQL server to MS Azure cloud.
• Knowledge of Azure Data warehouse or any other Data warehouse.
• Must have hands on experience with setup SSRS/ Power BI Dashboards.
• Experience in Performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge in TSQL
• Excellent written and verbal communication. Flexible, teammate, get-it-done personality
