Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in databases such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL , and will be responsible for ensuring data integrity, performance, availability, and security. This role requires a proactive professional who can also contribute to process improvement and disaster recovery strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, upgrade, and manage MongoDB , PostgreSQL , and other supported database systems.
Enforce and implement robust database security measures , roles, user access, and privileges.
Plan, test, and execute disaster recovery strategies and high-availability setups.
Perform database patching and upgrades according to industry best practices.
Monitor and optimize database performance , query response times, and uptime.
Identify, design, and implement process enhancements to improve data flow and system reliability.
Document and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards .
Minimize downtime by efficiently managing database parameters and system resources.
Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support integration and scalability needs.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in administration of MongoDB, PostgreSQL , or similar databases.
Proven ability to standardize database installation and configuration processes.
Strong experience in disaster recovery planning , high availability implementations, and data backup strategies.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical and algorithmic approach to challenges.
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
Solid understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Proficient in implementing database security frameworks and access controls.
Familiarity with tools and scripting for automation and monitoring.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with PL/pgSQL is highly beneficial.
Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database, GCP).
Scripting knowledge (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation tasks.
Knowledge of DevOps concepts and database integration in CI/CD pipelines.
