Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing our company’s databases. This is a critical role in ensuring that our databases are consistently reliable, fast, and secure, supporting the smooth operation of business functions.

As a Database Administrator, you will collaborate with development and IT teams to implement best practices for database management, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity and availability across all platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management:
• Install, configure, and maintain relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.).
• Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Design, implement, and manage data backup and recovery strategies.
• Conduct regular database performance tuning and optimization, ensuring database health and efficiency.

Security and Compliance:
• Ensure database security by implementing encryption, access controls, and secure coding practices.
• Manage user permissions and access control policies to ensure secure database operations.
• Implement data protection strategies to meet compliance regulations and internal data security standards.

Database Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, data inconsistencies, and failures.
• Provide on-call support to handle critical database issues.
• Regularly perform database maintenance, including data purging, reorganizing, and updating indexes.

Data Integration and Automation:
• Design and implement data integration strategies for seamless data flow between applications and databases.
• Automate repetitive tasks and improve database management efficiency using scripting (SQL, PowerShell, Python, etc.).

Collaboration and Reporting:
• Work closely with the development team to understand the database needs of new applications and provide database architecture guidance.

Requirements:
• Educational Qualification: Graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in SQL, database design, and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• Experience with database platforms such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).
• Familiarity with database automation tools and scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
