Job Description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, installing and managing our databases. You will ensure optimal database performance by analyzing database issues and monitoring database performance.
Responsibilities
• Maintain and configure Postgres instances.
• Postgres DB replication like Streaming, Londiste, Logical strong hands on experience
• Strong experience with EFM, PgBouncer, PgPool, MTK, PgBadger, etc. tools from EDB
• Strong experience working on Postgres database in the production environment.
• DBA will be supporting the customer on a 24x7 support.
• Should have hand-on experience on Postgres user management and maintenance.
• Should have worked on security implementation for Postgres database.
• Have worked on maintenance tasks and knowledge of Backup and Recovery.
• Must have Database related issue troubleshooting / analytical skills
• Should have good communication, analytical, interpersonal and customer handling skills.
• Strong performance tuning experience
• Must have On-premise to Cloud DB migration experience
• Good to have cross DB migration experience
• Keep clear documentation of the database setup and architecture.
• Write procedures for backup and disaster recovery.
• Ensure that the databases achieve maximum performance and availability.
• Design indexing strategies.
• Configure, monitor, and deploy replica sets.
• Upgrade databases through patches.
• Create roles and users and set their permissions.
• Experience with other RDBMS Databases like MSSQL, MySQL.
• Passionate about embracing new database technologies.
• Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and interpersonal skills to handle various critical situations.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and communications skills to handle critical circumstances well.
