The TransPerfect TechOps team has been instrumental in driving the company's success for over a decade, delivering technology and services that have simplified lives of clients and colleagues alike. Our team has improved workflows, developed core services for our GlobalLink platform, and created scalable client interfaces for complex ecosystems.
This role involves working closely with senior developers to design, test, plan, protect, and implement databases for our department.
Key Responsibilities
• Optimize database performance by managing locking, process blocking, and tuning
• Create and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architectures
• Manage, optimize, test, and verify backup and restoration processes
• Develop monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards to track database performance and operation
• Preventative manage infrastructure, anticipating potential issues and mitigating damage from incidents
• Handle support tickets as needed, supporting peers when necessary
• Design, develop, and deploy new database objects and changes to existing objects, including tables, stored procedures, views, etc.
• Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development
• Design, develop, and maintain complex relational database reports using SSRS
Required Skills and Experience
• Advanced understanding of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically MSSQL
• Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS, and support tooling
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and day-to-day DB functions
• Advanced knowledge of optimizing MSSQL, implementing HA/DR, etc.
• Experience with Always on High Availability Groups is an asset
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and break down complex problems
• Select tasks relative to current workload
• Understand and implement best-practices balanced with team standards
• Communicate ideas clearly to manager and peers
• Participate in peer reviews, offer constructive criticism, and contribute to code quality
• Experience with cloud database storage technologies
Education and Qualifications
• Minimum Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
