This position will be responsible for supporting new and existing database systems managed on AWS/Oracle/Other Cloud or on-prem deployments. The Database Administrator will help demonstrate and follow best practices in Database Administration, High Availability, Database Management, Database Design, Performance Optimizations and will introduce innovation with automation.
The EDB & Postgres Database Administrator should have advanced knowledge of databases including creation and implementation of fully functional database instances on various platforms.
Responsibilities
• Provide DBA services to internal and external clients in Linux and AWS/OCI/Other Cloud environments.
• Designs, installs, and maintains complex database systems including data modeling, access, security, performance, and documentation.
• Leads the designs, development and implementation of database backup and recovery procedures to insure reliability
• Actively participate in the adoption of strategic platforms for EDB & Postgres database (and other open databases) - on-premises and Cloud Infrastructure
• Collaborate on Database Automation activities to improve process efficiency and risk compliance
• Drive Stability initiatives by proactively reviewing and addressing Database performance and capacity trends
• Develop and execute database migration, change management and configuration management tasks for new releases of their products
• Database Performance Tuning, Query analysis and optimization
• Assist and mentor the development staff with SQL and PL/SQL tuning
• Familiar in Transaction Logging, Connection Pooling , Security patching and Access control
• Experience with Enterprise Failover Manager
• Must be able to patch/upgrade PostgreSQL & EDB database.
• Design, maintain and ensure high availability solutions including replication, clustering etc.
• Should have knowledge to tune DB query.
Requirements
• 2+ years of database development experience (preferably in Healthcare/Life Sciences domain)
• 2+ years of experience with Postgres & EDB on Linux
• 2+ years of experience in Database Tuning
• 2+ years in AWS / Oracle OCI
• 2+ years of experience in Database Platforms including Governance Integration, Security and Operations
• Experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and production support
• Experience in transforming to and from on premise environment to cloud technology
• Working experience in Healthcare Technology and knowledge of Argus Safety is a big plus
• Knowledge of Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
