Senior Systems Engineer
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to interface with our customers' IT staff on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Resolve moderately complex technical problems related to Oracle products installation, maintenance, use, and repair/workarounds.
• Work with general guidance from management while advising on progress/status.
Tech Lead Requirements:
• 8-20 years of relevant experience as Oracle Core DBA.
• Experience in DBA Managed Services environment.
• Monitoring and managing mission-critical database production environments.
• Knowledge of Change management processes (SLAs, ticketing, approvals etc).
• Good understanding of business impacts of critical situations.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at technical and business management levels.
• Strong customer-facing skills.
Technical Skills:
• RAC, RAT testing, ASM, Exadata, Performance tuning, Data Guard (Physical and Logical), DG Broker.
• Database security - TDE, Audit Vault, OKV.
• Database monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager including target management, HA configuration and administration of OEM.
• Grafana knowledge preferred.
• Day-to-day database issue troubleshooting.
• Handling complex database backup and recovery scenarios using RMAN.
• Database migrations (ExaCC, OCI, platform migration) and upgrades.
• Troubleshooting various installation and patching issues.
• Oracle engineered systems like Exadata, Supercluster.
• Golden Gate replication including unidirectional and bidirectional access.
• Automation using Shell scripts, Perl, Python, Ansible.
• OS administration (Linux, Solaris), virtualization, storage (ZFS, ZDLRA).
Requirements:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure - quick thinking and remaining calm during stressful situations.
• Willingness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts and on weekends from office.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical issues.
• Appetite to learn new technologies and constantly improve technical skills.
