As a Senior Database Administrator, you'll execute on database strategies and take responsibility for the integrity, architecture, modeling, security, and performance tuning for our MySQL databases. You'll play a key role in managing and improving the health and stability of our MySQL instances. You'll regularly partner with development and systems groups to provide deep subject matter expertise in various projects
As a Database Administrator Senior, you will be responsible for:
• Performing database administration; install, configure, upgrade, and migrate existing databases
• Responding to and resolving database related requests from other departments
• Defining database requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs and standards
• Identifying data security related issues and help with improving overall security of the database environment
• Collaborating with our support, operations and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems
• Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience
• Have experience with MySQL/Percona Server with focus on Innodb storage ,MySQL configuration, database performance, and query optimization
• Display an understanding of MySQL Replication principles (GTID based & binary log position based) and replication topologies
• Have experience assisting developers with database development and schema design principles (normalization and denormalization where needed)
• Possess professional experience using Percona toolkit, ProxySQL, and other database tools in a high-traffic, highly available environment
• Possess knowledge of backup strategies and disaster recovery scenarios
