With this position we offer:
Join the Global Operations organization for Nasdaq. The main objective for the Database team in Bangalore is to provide support and services for the Global Database Operations and Management. As our new member, you will work with a group of enthusiastic and experienced team members. Together with your team, you will be responsible for managing the Production Database Platforms along with other non-Production environments, and keeping the systems secure, performing well and ensure recoverability in case of failure/disaster.
Your role and responsibilities:
• As a Database Admin Specialist, your focus will be Operational Database Support & Services. Besides working closely with your colleagues in Bangalore, you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries.
• Maintains multiple database management systems in database design, testing implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment contributing to policy and procedure development.
• Under limited supervision, maintains and monitors database utilities, the relationships between the database users and applications, uses query languages in order to support clients.
• Under limited supervision, reviews functional requirements to resolve issues related to information flow and content.
• Under limited supervision, maintains database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and backup procedures.
• Under limited supervision, analyzes, designs, creates and implements databases, including logical and physical databases, schemas, access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security.
We expect you to have:
• 5+ years of MS-SQL Server 2014/2016/2017 installation, configuration and troubleshooting experience
• Strong replication, patching and database tuning experience
• Experience in large 24X7 production environment
• Working experience in a high-availability database environment (Always-On Cluster, Mirroring, Replication)
• Must have working knowledge in Database Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Ignite, MySQL Work Bench, or similar tools
Participate in Operational Support - Monthly Rotation of Shifts:
• 1 st Shift (6 AM – 2 PM IST )
• 2 nd Shift (2 PM – 10 PM IST)
• Participate in Weekend On-Call Monthly rotation (Saturday & Sunday 10 AM – 10 PM IST)
• Ability to understand business drivers and customer needs
• Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with many stakeholders
• Strong writing skills to create necessary development documentation
• Ability to communicate technical information in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to broad ranges of audiences
• Initiative, dependability, cooperation and thoroughness in a team environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional attitude with ability to prioritize work, multi-task, flex between changing priorities, and strong time management is critical in our rapidly changing environment
