Job Description • 6+ years of IT Experience in MS SQL Database Administration and Development for very large and complex databases in Microsoft SQL Server 2026/2017 in Development, Test and Production Environments on various business domains. • Installing, configuring, optimizing, and managing different versions SQL Server 2026 and 2017 updating with latest hot fixes and service packs as per CIS Standards. • Expert in Migrating from SQL server 2017 and 2026 or later by using In-Place upgrade process as well as side-by-side upgrade process and documented the Upgrade Process. • Proficiency and expertise in SQL Server Backup/Recovery, Disaster recovery planning and Security Management. • Highly expertise on implementing and troubleshooting high availability techniques like Log shipping, Mirroring, Clustering and Always On. • Hands on experience on SQL SERVER 2026 new features like query store, IN memory OLTP and database stretching to Azure platform. • Experience in supporting Very Large Database (VLDB) more than 2TB and troubleshooting problems. • Good experience in SQL Database Migration from on prem to Microsoft Azure • Expertise in implementation of security models, Database authentication modes, creation of logins, granting permissions and assigning roles to users on databases. • Experience in using Native tools like SQL Server Profiler, extended events, Database Tuning Advisor, Perfmon and third-party tools like IDERA. (Nice to have) • Installing/Configuring SQL Server 2017/2026 Always on availability groups for high availability. • Handling change/Incident management. • Patched servers with latest SQL Server service packs and Cumulative updates • Managing Microsoft Active\Active, Active\Passive, and Clustered SQL Server 2026 environments. • Installing and Implementing Async and Sync Mirroring / Log Shipping for Disaster Recovery. • Configure SQL / DB MAIL for sending server / database alerts: • Environment involves High data availability solutions like Log shipping and Clustering. • Responsible for providing cut out solutions for database servers resolving issues in a limited amount of time. • Responsible for Monitoring and Troubleshooting SQL Server Performance issues. • Performance tuning (Server Level, DB Level, Query Level, CPU, memory, Disk I/O, tables, index Rebuild/Reorganize). • Deploying and monitoring SSIS Package tools of SQL Server to populate data from various data sources. • Using IDERA, Diagnostic Manager and SCOM for monitoring SQL Servers. • Worked in SSIS and SSRS packages. • Installing SQL Server 2026 cluster/non-cluster. • Setting up secure linked servers to support cross database server code. • Planned the Installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2026, building, designing, Configuration, Upgrade, Migration and application of Windows and SQL Patches during scheduled database nonproduction hours to ensure databases are up to date in Virtualized environments. • Configured High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Solutions on production in standalone and Clustered environments such as Always On, Traditional Failover Clustered (Windows Server Failover Cluster-WTFC), Database Mirroring, Replication such as transnational replication and Log Shipped to make sure the databases are always available and participated in disaster recovery. • Monitored standby Databases to ensure high availability. • Configured and managed Contained Database Firewall Rule. • Create and maintain azure managed SQL instances and databases.
