Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious and enthusiastic/energetic DBA who ticks the majority of the following requirements:
Important notes:
• Freshers and candidates without in-depth knowledge of at least one database need not apply.
• Salary is not a constraint for able candidates.
Requirements:
• 3-5 years of hands-on hardcore DBA experience - preferably in a cloud product setup like AWS RDS.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of different databases such as MySQL, Oracle. Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis is an added advantage.
• Should have skills to deduce the database architecture and schema
• Should be able to independently monitor and optimise database performance by analysing SQL queries, creating required indexes, optimising database settings.
• Should be capable of creating and managing database backups, and restoring databases in the unfornutate event of disasters like disk failures or data corruption etc
• Should be capable of performing the mock disaster drills, performing the restores and demonstrate that the processes are in place to handle any unfortunate events.
• Should have good understanding about the database security. Secure database against unauthorized access, data breaches/leaks, and other security threats
• Should have strong problem solving skills and can identify and resolve system/database related issues independently.
• Should be able to estimate the CPU/memory/disk requirements based on the anticipated load and data size
• It goes without saying - the candidate should have pro-level Unix/Linux skills.
• Should have the ability to hit the ground running with bare minimum knowledge transfer sessions
