Position Summary
Role: - Database Developer
Required:
• Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment to meet client deadlines
• Strong organizational, analytical skills, problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
• Highly developed written and strong oral communication skills
• Flexibility in working hours according to business needs
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with T-SQL
• Experience with architecture and performance optimization of enterprise level database systems
• Experience analyzing and optimizing for back end specific performance metrics
• Experience with relational databases ( e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience in data modeling, schema design and deployment of database structures
• Experience with automating DBA tasks
• Experience with Cloud-based DB solutions is a plus
• Experience with document databases (MongoDB)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
Preferred:
• Experience with high availability database environments
• Experience with database-centric performance testing tools
The Team
Our Financial Technology practice develops and licenses a growing family of proprietary software products (see http://www.deloitte.com/ft ) to assist financial institutions with a number of complex topics, such as accounting for credit deteriorated assets and the administration of investments in leveraged loans. We are looking to add to our Solvas|Asset Management ( www.solvassoftware.com ) solution teams.
• Solvas|Asset Management is a suite of solutions including Solvas|Portfolio, Solvas|Agent, Solvas|Compliance, and Solvas|PoP for the various needs of administrator, trustee, agent, and asset manager clients in the collateralized loan/debt obligations (CLOs/CDOs), credit funds, and syndicated loan markets.
Work you’ll do
• Partner with development teams to design data management and governance solutions
• Understand how overall application strategy and business needs cascade to the database level
• Design, configure, implement, and administer all databases in various environments (Development, QA, Production)
• Work on database performance optimization and query tuning
• Identify performance bottlenecks, slow queries, and optimize it.
• Monitor server analytics (database memory, system resources, storage usage, available free space and consumption trends and provide notifications when identified thresholds are expected to be exceeded)
• Contribute to the implementation and testing of CI/CD pipelines
• Proactively identify and resolve all issues related to database systems to ensure that systems are performing in line with business expectations and without service interruption
• Build and manage the database disaster recovery and backup plans
• Create and maintain stored procedures, views, tables, jobs, triggers, collections etc
• Develop new and enhance existing standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for database environments using industry experiences, best practices research, and business needs
• Analyze and report the performance of database operations against the key database performance metrics
• Contribute to a positive team attitude
