The primary role of the data engineering function is to design, implement and maintain Data warehouse strategies in Azure Synapse and Snowflake. Key deliverables include building data warehouse layers and providing usable information to data scientists and business analysts using data collected and transformed from various structured and unstructured data sources. Job activities include troubleshooting and support, data integrity checks and performance optimization.

You will help to drive the business forward by:
• Creating a detailed data map and developing an architectural model
• Assembling large, complex data sets that meet business requirements
• Leading the development of the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
• Partnering with the technology, data acquisition and operations teams to ensure an integrated approach to data delivery, storage, and insight generation/delivery
• Providing technical insights on emerging hybrid data architectures, advanced analytics, data privacy and security trends
• Leading cross-functional teams in the development of Proof of Concepts for assessment of technology/business benefit
Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience:
• Advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) in Applied Math / Computer Science / Software Engineering/Statistics or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Data Engineer or equivalent role
• Strong Python coding knowledge
• Demonstrated proficiency with big data technologies and concepts
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
• Experience with designing and implementing Enterprise data warehouse
• Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
• Familiarity with a variety of data sets (structured, semi-structured, unstructured, etc.)
• Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
• Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured and structured data sets
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
• Strong problem-solving and communications skills
• Healthcare experience preferred
