Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Administering databases hosted on on-premises / cloud environments (internal and client).
• Investigating performance issues on customer databases and devising solutions.
• Refactoring SQL code to improve performance.
• Reviewing proposed SQL schema and code changes.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop solutions for complex database issues.
• Continuously improving database performance by monitoring database health and performance.
• Designing implementing, and maintaining backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends.
• Documenting all database changes and updates.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in database administration (DBA), optimization, and maintenance.
• Experience with on-premises and cloud-based database technologies (e.g. MSSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL Database would be advantageous).
• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and refactoring SQL code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Have dealt with large and complex databases.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
• Programming experience in Microsoft technologies such as .NET (VB.NET, C#)
• Exposed to Agile ways of working with experience working in Scrum teams.
• Worked in overseas client projects.
