A highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator is needed to maintain the performance and security of our database systems.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience with PostgreSQL database management in production environments, including setup, configuration, maintenance, and optimization.
This role requires expertise in database installation, configuration, and maintenance, as well as performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
The key responsibilities include:
• Ensuring high availability, data consistency, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning for our PostgreSQL systems.
• Implementing monitoring tools to proactively detect issues.
• Setting up alerts for critical metrics and thresholds.
• Collaborating with DevOps, development, and QA teams to support application deployments and releases.
• Maintaining comprehensive documentation for database configurations and procedures.
• Automating routine tasks using shell scripts, Ansible, or other automation frameworks.
The required skills and qualifications include:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, internals, and extensions.
• Proficient in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
• Experience with HA/DR solutions like Patroni, PgBouncer, Streaming Replication.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms.
• Experience with Linux/Unix system administration and scripting.
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
