Job Description
As the Day-of Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the workshop on February 8, 2026, from start to finish. This is a key volunteer position that will help ensure all logistics are handled efficiently and that attendees, speakers, and volunteers have a positive experience throughout the event. The role involves overseeing event setup, managing the event schedule, assisting with speaker transitions, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
• Event Setup & Logistics:
• Assist with the setup of the workshop space, ensuring all materials (handouts, seating, AV equipment, etc.) are ready before the event begins.
• Ensure that the venue is arranged according to the event’s needs and that all equipment is functioning (microphones, projectors, etc.).
• Ensure all signage is in place and that the venue is welcoming and organized for attendees.
• Managing Event Flow:
• Ensure that the event schedule runs smoothly, including keeping track of time and facilitating transitions between sessions.
• Assist the facilitator with speaker introductions and help ensure that each session stays within the allotted time.
• Monitor participant engagement and help maintain an energetic, positive atmosphere throughout the workshop.
• Speaker & Attendee Support:
• Provide support to speakers, ensuring they have everything they need for their presentations (microphone, handouts, etc.).
• Greet speakers and assist them with setup as needed, ensuring that they feel prepared and comfortable.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
• Be prepared to handle any logistical or technical issues that may arise during the workshop (e.g., AV issues, attendee inquiries, etc.).
• Troubleshoot any last-minute challenges to ensure the event runs seamlessly.
• Post-Event Wrap-Up:
• Assist with event breakdown, including packing up materials, collecting feedback forms, and ensuring the venue is left in good condition.
• Help ensure that all event materials are properly stored or disposed of as needed.
Qualifications
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems quickly and effectively.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and coordinating multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take initiative when needed.
• Prior event experience is a plus, but not required.

Time Commitment
