Job Description
Title : Sr Database Administrator
Base Location: Chennai
Work Location: Delhi
Dept: DC & Cloud Practice
Deputed to : EESL Project
Cadre : M1C-M2A
Job Overview:
He shall report to Manager - Infrastructure for project activities and Database Lead - Technology Infrastructure practise functionally. He/she shall be responsible to monitor, maintain database system hosted at private or public cloud for mission critical applications. He shall interface with various stakeholders like application owners, cloud infra providers for capacity planning, security, availability as per project requirements. He shall also assure DR, backups/archives, periodic BCP drills, audits and authorisations through defined process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor and assure DB availability as per project design and requirements.
Continuous monitoring and optimisation of capacity and utilisation of the DB as per project requirements
Automation for real-time monitoring of Database system health parameters and timely escalation/resolution in coordination with Oracle, CSP and application owners.
Adhere to service assurance, change management, problem management processes defined for the project and coordinate for release management.
Adhere to escalation matrix and timely resolution of the issues and submission of RCAs
Assist for any future cloud migrations to public CSP like OCI or Azure or AWS.
Responsible for SLA adherence and continuous improvement.
Continuous performance and capacity optimisation to keep IOs, storage minimal through proactive housekeeping
Ensure periodic DB audits and timely submission of reports to customer or any external agency appointed
