• About the role:
Database Architect plays a key role in driving the identification, pursuit and closure of strategic business development activities whilst continuing to be responsible for the architecture and delivery of existing projects. They will lead in identifying and creatively solving complex customer problems, envisioning, and enabling critical processes, and fundamentally helping the customer to achieve their objectives. Architect must be effective in fostering senior level relationships. They also play a key role in employing, leveraging partners as part of the overall service delivery model
• You will be responsible for
• Provide technical expertise from a database perspective for every phase of the project lifecycle, from concept development to solution design, implementation, optimization, and support.
• Growing the business through mentoring, talent pipeline development, and community evangelism and sharing experiences to develop assets within the organization
• Partner with Application, Data and Analytics Engineering leadership to establish an information architecture plan across multiple solution areas.
• Analyze and influence end-to-end data and integration design for key business domains.
• Architect and design solutions for data quality, reliability, and data governance.
• Embrace and influence technology platform thinking and drive architecture principles of security, scale, uptime, and reliability.
• Contribute to and implement the architecture strategy for enterprise information and data management
• Partner with business and enterprise data leaders to provide technical advice on data governance, data quality and stewardship
• Guide and mentor engineering teams to raise collective technical expertise
• Demonstrate a strong bias for architecture principles balanced with tactical timelines, cost, and risks.
• Contribute to architecture guiding principles, development standards, training and hiring.
• Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives with clients; and evaluating current systems.
• Develop database solutions by designing a proposed system, defining the database’s physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.
• Install database systems by developing flowcharts; apply optimum access techniques; coordinate installation actions; and document actions.
• Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculate optimum values for parameters; evaluate, integrate, and install new releases; complete maintenance; and answer user questions.
• Prepare users by conducting training.
• Provide database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; and participate in professional organizations.
• Qualifications
• Bachelor’s / master’s degrees in information technology are related field.
• 15+ years related IT experience
• Database specialty certifications from AWS / Azure / GCP is preferred
• Proven record in driving architectural solutions for mid to large enterprises.
• Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, database migrations, and technology management
• Experience in moving data from on-premises data platforms to cloud and designing cloud native data warehouse platforms.
• Experience working with transactional, temporal, time series, and structured and unstructured data.
• Expertise on PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Aurora databases
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, storage optimization and query optimizations.
• Experience in delivering/managing the lifecycle of software/services using DevOps/ML Ops
