Position Overview

Job Title: Divisional Risk and Control Analyst (Cross-border), International Private Bank (IPB), Divisional Control Office (DCO)

Team:

The team is part of the Divisional Control Office. In an ever-changing financial landscape within a global business model, the role of the Divisional Control Office has never been more important. A strong risk management culture helps to reinforce Deutsche Bank’s resilience. The function identifies, aggregates, manages and mitigates risk across the core activities of operational risk management, supporting the Deutsche Bank IPB strategies whilst protecting the Bank. The team works with cross-functional and global teams, collaborating with multiple stakeholders globally across the bank.

Role description / Responsibilities:
• Contribute to further development and ongoing maintenance of IPB’s framework for cross-border risk management with corresponding guidelines, controls, and training
• Support reviews of existing and development of new country-specific cross-border business conduct guidelines, based on external regulatory input, considering IPB’s risk appetite
• Obtain input from and facilitate discussions between relevant stakeholders, support development of agreeable solutions
• Support preparation of quarterly control execution report, including control validation and quality assurance
• Advise stakeholders on cross-border risk management matters
• Liaise with (senior) stakeholders from IPB and 2LoD control functions within the scope of assigned tasks
• Participate in and support change projects with subject matter expertise in cross-border risk management, support development of reasonable business solutions and foster awareness with the cross-border risk management framework
• Ensure that any sensitive issues are escalated promptly with sound analysis and recommendations.
• Develop good understanding of relevant frameworks within Deutsche Bank, contribute to the development of, and build know-how within the global IPB DCO team.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:
• University degree, preferably in business administration or law
• Expertise in banking and investment service regulation, consumer protection and international commercial / private law
• Relevant experience in the financial industry, with focus on Retail / Private Banking or Wealth Management
• Good understanding of financial services and products offered to Retail / Private Banking / Wealth Management clients
• Understanding of the “3 Lines of Defense” model, and the various typical control frameworks, in particular Compliance and Non-Financial Risk Management
• Experience in working on projects preferably within an international environment

Competencies:
• Strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative) and willingness to tackle detailed questions within area of responsibility
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Ability to work under pressure
• Strong work ethic, commitment to excel and proven capacity to work effectively with limited supervision
• Strong communication (written and verbal) skills, ability to explain complex regulatory issues in plain language
• Experience in working in an international and inter-cultural environment
• Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken skills)
