Job Description
The Dean will be a dedicated, visionary and collaborative academic leader with a distinguished record in teaching and research, a deep commitment to educational programs, and a strong commitment to engaging with the professional community.
The successful candidate should have experience recruiting and mentoring excellent faculty, experience leading and managing change in a university, demonstrated leadership abilities and proven skills in management, communication, consensus-building, advocacy, and strategic planning in an academic context.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Strategy: Building a vision of excellence in IOM and monitoring progress toward short-term, medium-term and long-term goals work towards strategizing and achieving them.
2) Curriculum Development and expansion: leading and coordinating IOM strategic planning for future expansion and curriculum development & revision of existing programs.
The Dean is also expected to identify the Uncertainty prevailing in the market related to the programs of IOM and recommend investment decisions for the program (existing / new). Recommend the value proposition of each program based on competition mapping.
3) Program management: You will spend a significant amount of your time managing programs and ensuring that they are running smoothly and effectively.
This position is expected to supervise faculty in all aspects of curriculum development and review, award jurying, program event planning, quality audits and capstone project committees etc.
4) Laboratory Development: Responsible for integrating state-of-the-art technology/automation processes in the academic area to build a superior experience for the students and faculty members.
Additionally, the Dean will develop and select Labs or Entrepreneurship courses.
5) Top-line growth: You will be responsible for driving the growth of IOM and ensuring that it is financially successful.
6) Brand building: You will need to work with the admissions and outreach team on building and promoting the brand/reputation of IOM, both internally and externally.
7) Corporate connect: You will need to engage with external organizations, such as corporate partners, academic institutions and trade bodies, to build relationships and further the goals of IOM.
8) Accreditations: You will work with the Vice-Chancellor to ensure that IOM meets the requirements for national and international accreditations in a timely manner.
+) Board of Studies: Responsible for the preparation of the Annual Reports of programs within IOM and conducting meetings of Boards of Studies to provide appropriate assessment and input.
10) Academic Policy and Process: Ensure that students/ faculties are provided with appropriate information on admissions, relevant academic policies and guidelines.
11) Stakeholder aspirations: You are expected to consider the needs and goals of all stakeholders in IOM, including students, faculty, staff and alumni.
12) Faculty and student satisfaction: You will need to work to improve the satisfaction of faculty and students with their experience at IOM.
13) Knowledge creation and dissemination: You will lead efforts to create new knowledge through academic and applied research, and you will also work to disseminate this knowledge through events and activities for the benefit of scholars, students and faculty.
14) University ecosystem & Collaboration: You will need to work with other departments within the university, such as admissions, placement, finance and human resources, International Relations and IQAC to ensure that IOM is functioning effectively within the larger university ecosystem.
Education:
a) At least a Doctorate in a field related to management
Other Qualifications:
• A Candidate must have proven success in both leadership and teaching.
• The candidate would ideally have a doctoral degree at the time of application. Candidates should have at least 5 years of teaching experience with strong skills in differentiating instruction and industry experience in a management field.
• The ability to teach Entrepreneurship courses at the undergraduate level including, but not limited to, current knowledge of Design Thinking, multiple management techniques and practices, the innovation ecosystem, and a commitment to leading innovative practices through technology.
