Job Description and What We Offer:

We are seeking a painter & decorator to help us with the interior & exterior projects in West Norfolk & North Norfolk coastal area. The ideal candidate for this position has experience in painting & decorating and will be confident working alongside our small and friendly team or on their own. We're looking for an individual with excellent attention to detail, as well as someone who can work independently and communicate effectively with his/her peers.

The successful candidate for this position will enjoy great job security, monthly salary, basic tools and work uniform provided, company pension scheme, flexible hours if required and agreed and possible end of year bonus dependent on performance.

Over a certain period of time a company van and fuel card can be arranged for the trusted candidate. As well as opportunities for professional development and training. They will also have the chance to work on diverse and rewarding projects.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

Rubbing down, filling, and caulking

Keeping the work area or any area used on a work site tidy at all times. At the end of the day any paint tools and equipment will need to be put back in the work van or in the paint storage area.

Washing out paint brushes daily, however, this should be done only at 8 Hill Street Hunstanton. Unless the customer has agreed for this to be done on site.

Keeping the work van and companies storage unit tidy when adding and removing equipment from these areas. If anything has been removed or used this needs to be reported to your manager.

Fetching and carrying work equipment and deliveries.

Different work duties will be expected as an when confidence grows on the job. This will include doing your own personal jobs for clients when requested by your manager. This can include cutting in, rollering, spraying, wallpapering, ladder and scaffold work, oiling and varnishing and woodwork.

Potentially making phone calls to suppliers and clients if needed.

Ensuring they are honest and trustworthy to keep keys safe and remember safe codes without sharing this information elsewhere for the work company storage unit.

Keeping a stock check on your work van from the storage unit i.e preparation gear and everyday paints and products.

Ensuring the employee wears the appropriate work uniform everyday and safety equipment e.g. hi-vis and work boots when on building sites. Other safety equipment may be needed depending on the work area.

Desirable Skills (But not Essential):

CSCS Card - Basic Health & Safety

First Aid Training

Knowledge in basic plastering

Knowledge in basic carpentry and wood splicing

Knowledge in repairing resin

Knowledge in Alloy Tower Scaffolding

Qualified to use a cherry picker

These skills are not essential to be the chosen candidate. However, do come in useful for certain projects we work on. Training courses could be provided for the employee once they have passed their probation period and are settled in the company under a contract.

Experience and Qualifications:

NVQ Level 2 or 3- Painting and Decorating

Proven experience as a painter and decorator (Minimum 5 years)

Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
