Defence Industry Pathways Traineeship
MEGT in collaboration with the Australian Government, Defence and South Metropolitan TAFE are seeking applications for the upcoming intake for the Defence Industry Pathways Program. The Defence Industry Pathways Program is an Australian Government initiative. This is an amazing opportunity where you will undertake a 12-month Certificate III Defence Industry Pathways Program Traineeship.
The traineeship offers vital hands-on experience and education in a range of areas within the Defence industry, including manufacturing and engineering, computing, logistics, procurement and technical & computer aided drawing.
Start a career in the Defence industry with multifaceted learning experience consisting of on-campus study at Fremantle and on-the-job training with our valued host employers in the Defence industry through work placement blocks.
About the Traineeship
Ideal for anyone considering a career in ship building and/or the Defence industry.
Enjoy a hybrid curriculum which includes operational support, engineering and logistics subjects.
A 12-month commitment with high potential for ongoing employment opportunities upon successful completion.
Gain work experience at a variety of Defence industry companies, predominately located in the Henderson Industrial estate and at various other Perth locations.
Enjoy study blocks at South Metropolitan TAFE's first-class Fremantle campus.
Receive ongoing support and guidance from a dedicated coach throughout the traineeship.
Be paid while you train for the duration of the traineeship (includes annual leave, personal leave and superannuation)
About You
Are you a person who has basic literacy and numeracy skills, is a problem solver and prides themselves on being reliable?
Do you cooperate with others and understand the importance of teamwork. Are you punctual and able to follow workplace rules, especially those related to health & safety?
Are you computer literate and can travel to Fremantle and the Henderson area for study and work either in your own vehicle or other reliable transport?

Successful candidates must satisfactorily pass a police and medical check including drug & ******* screening before their formal offer. Eligibility criteria applies in relation to work rights.
As a trainee you will be paid in accordance with the National Training Wage. Wages vary based on your level of schooling and years post leaving school. Before applying, you should consider your financial circumstances.
