Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organise, and supervise all deli department operations to maximise sales and profitability.
Ensure ready-to-eat foods, meats, salads, sandwiches, and other deli items are well presented, stocked, rotated (FIFO), and stored to maintain quality and compliance.
Monitor inventory, manage ordering, and reduce waste while maintaining optimal stock levels for deli products and ingredients.
Maintain correct pricing, signage, and hot/cold food displays to support merchandising strategies.
Coordinate and implement promotional and seasonal campaigns in line with company directives for the deli section.
Introduce new deli products and prepared food items based on customer demand and market trends.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, food hygiene, and food handling regulations in the deli area.
Recruit, train, and supervise deli staff; prepare rosters and allocate daily tasks effectively.
Lead, motivate, and coach the team to achieve sales and customer service targets.
Conduct performance reviews and implement development plans for deli personnel.
Maintain high standards of customer service and handle escalated inquiries or complaints professionally.
Work with store management to set and achieve deli sales, margin, and wastage targets.
Analyse sales data and identify opportunities for growth and improved efficiency within the deli department.
Oversee stocktakes and prepare accurate inventory and performance reports for the deli section.
Ensure adherence to company policies, food safety standards, and labour regulations.
Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $25 to $35 per hour.
Other requirements for the role:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or level 5 qualification is required.
Have good communication and people skills
Be available to work on weekends and evening shifts.

Strong attention to detail.
Punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team
Reliable, proactive, and hands-on approach to managing daily operations
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
