Your Role and Responsibilities
Delivery Consultants - Power Systems, will be part of the Worldwide Technology Expert Labs team engaged in providing specialist services on IBM Power Systems around the world. Delivery consultant role is for highly skilled expert with a deep knowledge of IBM's Power Server portfolio, RedHat Linux, AIX, and IBM Systems products and services around the Power Systems eco system.
The role demand deep skill and strong hands on skills in onr or more of the following subject matter areas: IBM Power Servers, Redhat OpenShift, Redhat Virtualization, KVM, Linux performance analysis & tuning, capacity planning, RHEL SOS reports analysis & troubleshooting, RedHat OpenShift, Containers, Kubernetes, Cloud Solutions, SLES Linux, AIX, Virtualization, PowerVM, High Availability Solutions (IBM PowerHA, Open Source HA solutions), DevOps and Automation tools like Ansible
The Technology Expert Labs delivery consultant assume overall technical responsibility for the success of solution construction, implementation and system integration in a technology, industry or business specialty. Deliver new and complex high-quality solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements. Provide technical expertise for the Client engagements and responsible for designing and deploying the solution. Collaborate with the technical consultants across other geos to create new assets. Design and implementation of infrastructure solutions on IBM Power Systems and related technologies.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Infrastructure solution architect experience. Experience in developing and documenting server implementation solution using technologies that meet customer business requirements.
• Hands-On experience in Virtualization Technologies (IBM PowerVM, KVM, RedHat Virtualization (RHV))
• Deployment and Systems Management: Installation of RHEL servers (baremetal and virtualized), RedHat Satellite
• Virtualization: Design and installation experience with RedHat Virtualization (RHV) clusters or KVM
• Performance: Linux performance analysis & tuning, capacity planning. Experience looking at RHEL SOS reports
• Linux Security: Experience with OS hardening and compliance management
• Server Administration: Linux administration, OS Backup, migration, bash scripting, data center planning
• Hands-On experience in implementing IBM Power Servers, VIOS and LPARs
• Hands-On experience in installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of AIX, Linux of Power (RedHat/SLES/Ubuntu)
• Experience in Server networking (Linux, AIX)
• Hands-On experience in Containers, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift technologies
• Experience working with infrastructure automation products such as Ansible
• Good knowledge in cloud implementation (Public/Private/Hybrid)
• Desired experience in Performance analysis and troubleshooting
• Experience in implementing HA technologies (OpenSource HA, IBM PowerHA SystemMirror)
• Good Communication Skills both written and Verbal
• Overall experience of more than 10 Years in the AIX/Linux Domain
• Must be an innovative thinker who can take any business problem and quickly come up with a way to sketch out architecture block diagrams using IBM and open source technologies.
• Be able to quickly differentiate IBM solution against competitive solutions and articulate the IBM value to client teams and clients and help win the deal for IBM.
• Strong executive presence, communications, and business acumen skills to advise LOB executives
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience on IBM Power Servers / AIX / Linux Solutions
• Openshift: Experience with deployment / administration of RH OpenShift / Kubernetes on cloud or on-premise. Understands OpenShift architecture components
• Ansible: Experience with creating Ansible playbooks, atleast one project where candidate has implemented automation using Ansible, installation and integration with Ansible Tower
• Open source software: Understanding of Git, experience building open source packages, DevOps principles and tools
• Industry experience in Banking /Telecom/ Manufacturing
• Certified on IBM AIX / Redhat Technologies (RedHat Certified Architect in Infrastructure)
• Experience in IBM LinuxOne / Mainframe technology
• Certified on IBM AIX / Redhat Technologies (RedHat Certified Architect in Infrastructure)
