Position Summary
We are seeking reliable and responsible Food Waste Collection Drivers to operate 3.5 tonne vans across the UK. The successful candidates will be responsible for collecting food waste from commercial and residential clients, ensuring timely and efficient service. This role requires a customer-focused attitude, a commitment to sustainability, and the ability to handle physical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
• Safelyoperatea3.5tonnevantocollectfoodwastefromdesignated routes nationwide.
• Ensuretimelyandefficientcollectionaccordingtothescheduled routes.
• Interactprofessionallyandcourteouslywithclients,addressingany concerns or questions.
• Accuratelycompletedailylogsheetsandmaintainrecordsof collections.
• Adheretoalltrafficlawsandcompanysafetyprocedures.
• Performroutinevehicleinspectionsandreportanymaintenance
needs.
• Loadandunloadfoodwastecontainers,ensuringtheyarehandled
with care to avoid spillage.
• Collaboratewithteammemberstooptimizeroutesandimprove
service efficiency.
• Reportanydiscrepanciesorissuesencounteredduringcollectionsto
the supervisor.
Health And Safety
• Complywithallhealthandsafetyregulationsandcompanypolicies.
• Usepersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE)asrequired.
• Attendregularhealthandsafetytrainingsessions.
• Reportanyaccidents,injuries,orunsafeconditionsimmediatelytothe
supervisor.
• Ensurefoodwasteishandledinahygienicandsafemannertoprevent
contamination.
Van Care
• Performdailyvehiclecheckstoensurethevanisingoodworking condition.
• Keepthevancleanandwell-maintainedatalltimes.
• Reportanymechanicalissuesordamagestothemaintenanceteam
promptly.
• Ensurethevanisstockedwithnecessarytoolsandequipmentforthe
job.
Qualifications
• ValidUKdriver’slicensewithacleandrivingrecord.
• Experiencedrivinga3.5tonnevanorsimilarvehicle.
• Abilitytoperformphysicaltasks,includingliftingheavycontainers(up
to 25 kg).
• Excellenttimemanagementskillsandtheabilitytowork
independently.
• Strongcommunicationandcustomerserviceskills.
• Knowledgeoflocaltrafficlawsandregulations.
• Basicunderstandingofwastemanagementpracticesisaplus.
