About the role

The Delivery & Quality Practice Manager plays a critical role in uplifting how Tyro delivers technology across all portfolios. This position is responsible for evolving and embedding “the Tyro Way” of delivery - ensuring our internal squads and external delivery partners operate predictably, transparently, and with high-quality engineering practices. This role combines delivery practice stewardship, metrics and reporting accountability, quality engineering leadership, and third-party delivery oversight. You will ensure that all vendors, contractors, and delivery partners adopt Tyro’s delivery frameworks, meet expectations for quality and throughput, and integrate seamlessly into our planning and execution rhythms. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Delivery Leads, Transformation Office (PMO), Architecture and external partners to support consistent delivery practices, uplift capability, and drive continuous improvement.

What you'll do

Champion “The Tyro Way” of Delivery

Embed, maintain, and continuously improve Tyro’s delivery frameworks, agile practices, and technology delivery processes across squads and vendor teams.

Support quarterly, monthly, and sprint-level planning cycles to ensure alignment, clarity, and consistent ways of working.

Make cross-team dependencies visible and well-managed.

Provide coaching, tools, and frameworks that simplify delivery and improve predictability for internal and external teams.

Deliver Metrics, Insights & Reporting

Define, track, and analyse delivery performance indicators (predictability, cycle time, flow, quality, risks, dependencies).

Produce regular delivery health reporting and insights for senior leadership.

Identify systemic delivery constraints and work with leaders to design improvements.

Build an enterprise-wide view of delivery health, including vendor performance metrics.

Lead Quality Engineering Excellence

Manage and grow Tyro’s Quality Engineering practice—including coaching, capability uplift, workforce planning, and QA/automation standards.

Define and evolve Tyro’s testing and quality strategy across technology teams and vendors.

Partner with Engineering & Delivery Leads to allocate QE support effectively across squads.

Champion automation, non-functional testing, shift-left quality practices, and broader test maturity.

Enable Delivery & Drive Continuous Improvement

Support squads to deliver high-quality outcomes by improving workflows, resolving blockers, and embedding best practices.

Facilitate continuous improvement informed by data, retrospectives, and stakeholder feedback.

Drive consistency through tools, templates, and repeatable processes.

Lead initiatives to reduce delivery friction and accelerate time-to-value.

Manage Third-Party & Delivery Partners

Ensure vendors and third-party delivery partners adopt Tyro’s delivery frameworks, governance, and quality standards.

Act as the escalation point for vendor-related delivery issues.

Work with Procurement, Legal, PMO, and Engineering to establish onboarding, expectations, communication rhythms, and performance measures.

Monitor vendor performance against KPIs (quality, throughput, predictability, responsiveness) and intervene as needed.

Ensure external teams integrate effectively into squads, ceremonies, planning, and reporting.

Identify and mitigate vendor-related risks early.

Build Strong Stakeholder Alignment

Partner closely with PMO, Product, Engineering, Procurement, and Architecture to support prioritisation, sequencing, and transparency.

Maintain strong cross-functional relationships and ensure consistent adoption of The Tyro Way.

Communicate proactively on delivery health, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Foster effective collaboration across internal teams and external partners.

What you'll bring

Deep experience in technology delivery across agile environments, with a strong ability to uplift ways of working, planning rhythms, and delivery predictability.

Strong understanding of delivery metrics and performance insights, including the ability to analyse data, spot trends, and present actionable recommendations to senior leaders.

Proven leadership in Quality Engineering, including test strategy, automation, non-functional testing, and building mature QA practices.

Experience working with and managing vendors or third-party delivery partners, including setting expectations, embedding governance, and managing performance.

Skill in navigating complex stakeholder environments—you can influence, align, prioritise, and communicate effectively across Product, Engineering, Architecture, PMO, and external partners.

A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify delivery friction and lead initiatives that improve flow, quality, and time-to-value.

Coaching and enablement capabilities, helping squads improve delivery practices, quality, and predictability in practical and empowering ways.

Strong problem-solving and systems thinking, able to diagnose systemic issues and design sustainable improvements.

A collaborative, values-led approach, bringing clarity, calmness, and consistency to teams and partners.
