Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of dental assisting, including chairside assisting, patient care, and administrative tasks. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of our dental practice while providing excellent care to our patients.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, adhering to safety standards.
Manage patient records and medical documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
Provide chairside support during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Monitor vital signs and assist in the management of patient comfort during treatments.
Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices.
Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth patient flow and effective communication within the clinic.
Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in dental technology such as 3D scanners.
Requirements

Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices is essential.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is desirable.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge.
Ability to perform medical imaging tasks competently.
Experience with medical coding and documentation is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with patients.
