Department Liaison Assistant (DLA)
Salary: $7+,122 - $+6,0873 – Effective from 1 May 2026 (Plus Superannuation)
Fixed term role to 30 June 2026
Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (flexibility may be available)

The Role
As a Department Liaison Assistant (DLA), you will provide support to Minister's Office (MO) in their liaison with the department by managing the flow of information, advice and documents. DLAs are the interface between the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) and the MO and will gain an insight into the development of public policy at the most senior levels.
Key accountabilities include:
Accurate use of systems and processes for briefing and other product flows, general communication, record keeping and other support between DJSIR and the Minister's office.
Active monitoring of correspondence received by the Minister's office and appropriate facilitation of responses via the department or referral to other Ministerial officers.
Facilitating requests between different Ministerial Offices, such as requests for Letters of Support for programs funded by DJSIR.
Supporting the Department Liaison Officer (DLO) to seek timely and practical advice and information about departmental liaison matters, including proactively identifying matters requiring attention and assisting with the management and resolution of both general and specific issues, and to undertake quality assurance on a range of documents, at the direction of the DLO.
The Team
The position of Department Liaison Assistant will work across the Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) branch, which sits within the Sport and Experience Economy (SEE) group.
Sport and Experience Economy (SEE) group is comprised of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV), Tourism and Events (T&E) and Outdoor Recreation (OR).
Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV), within the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR), manages several investment programs that seek to increase participation in community sport and recreation by maximising the delivery of outcomes most aligned to Victorian Government objectives and those within Active Victoria.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

Teamwork: Cooperates andworks well with others in pursuit of team goals, collaborates and shares information, shows consideration, concern and respect for others' feelings and ideas, accommodates and works well with the different working styles of others, encourages resolution of conflict within the group.
