St Paul’s Collegiate School is one of New Zealand’s leading independent day and boarding schools, with a strong commitment to student wellbeing, academic excellence, and character development. With the exciting milestone of welcoming junior girls from 2026, we are expanding our pastoral care structure across the Day Houses to ensure continued high-quality support for all students.
We are seeking five passionate and engaging teachers to take up Deputy Housemaster roles in our Day House pastoral structure. These positions offer the opportunity to play an integral role in shaping house culture, guiding student growth, and contributing meaningfully to the fabric of school life.
As a Deputy Day Housemaster, you will report to the Housemaster and work alongside existing deputies as part of a collaborative team responsible for the wellbeing, conduct, and development of our Year +–13 day students.
To be successful in this role, you will:
Be a qualified and experienced teacher
Have a genuine interest in pastoral leadership and mentoring young people
Be a strong communicator with a collaborative, student-centred approach
Be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive house culture
These positions are fixed-term for a minimum of three years (Term 1, 2026 – Term 4, 2028), and come with a 2.5 MMA allowance ($7,500 per annum) and a 3/25 period time release allocation. The underlying teaching roles are permanent, full-time positions.
We are particularly interested in teachers who are also seeking permanent full-time teaching positions in the following subject areas:
Mathematics (with a preference for Calculus expertise)
Physical Education and Dance
Science (with a preference for Physics expertise)
Commerce (Economics, Accounting, Business Studies, Enterprise)
Social Science (Geography, History, and/or Social Studies)
