Job Description
Responsibilities
• Build, maintain and deploy weather forecasting systems using NWP (WRF) and machine learning models (regression or time-series based)
• Should have knowledge of running WRF model, their configurations and how to make it work for different seasons and weather events
• Experience with handling different weather datasets (model, reanalysis and satellite) using python
• Hands-on experience on predictive modelling and analytics using machine learning models like linear regressor and tree-based regressor
• Understand the business requirement and develop business-specific weather and energy forecasting system
• Should have knowledge about weather events across Indian subcontinent (monsoon, western disturbance etc.) and how they impact renewable energy generation
• Stay abreast with latest developments in weather forecasting and take ownership to implement them
Qualifications
• MSc / MTech in Meteorology / Atmospheric Science or related disciplines
• Proficiency in python programming, statistical analysis
• Knowledge of Indian weather and climate systems
• Good to have prior experience in WRF
