The Corporate Services division provides a wide variety of services including Finance, Procurement and Supply, Treasury and Grid Pricing.
About the team
Our Treasury team, guided by the Treasurer, manages interest rate, liquidity, credit, investment, funding, foreign exchange, and commodity risks. The team also manages our insurance functions and internal and external financial and insurance relationships.
About the opportunity
We're excited to welcome a skilled Deputy Treasurer to our Corporate Services team based in our Head Office in Wellington. You will play a vital role in managing debt capital market activities across a range of markets, overseeing debt and investment portfolios, and ensuring compliance with Transpower's Treasury policies, financial markets, and insurance regulations.
Your expertise will be essential in managing Transpower's Green Financing Framework while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business and financial institutions. You'll connect with domestic and offshore investors, lead debt documentation efforts, and support the Treasurer in implementing treasury strategies.
In this role, you will also:
Serve as the Treasurer's delegate when required
Lead the documentation of debt programmes and liaise with external legal advisors and banks
Oversee cash and currency risk management
Lead strategic treasury projects

About you
We're looking for someone with financial market experience who thrives in a senior role. Youll be a strategic thinker with a passion for sustainable finance and a track record of delivering results in complex environments. Your leadership will inspire others, and youll thrive on building trusted relationships across the business and with external partners.
You will bring:
Corporate treasury experience, with a good understanding of financial markets (minimum 5 years of relevant experience)
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, problem solving and written, and oral communication skills
Strong leadership qualities and the ability to nurture cross-business relationships
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain confidentiality and accuracy
Proficiency in financial applications and Treasury Management Systems
Experience with capital market instruments, risk management products, and financial strategies
Additional skills that will enhance your application:
Strong working knowledge of risk monitoring and management
An understanding of insurance market and rating agency requirements
Ability to interpret regulatory parameters and assess alternative hedge strategies
