Job description
• Analyze and estimate the costs of engineering projects and products and work closely with cross-functional teams to gather cost data, create models, and provide accurate estimates
• Getting RFQs from customers and converting them into business /PO.
• Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate design concepts.
• Participate in the process of tender/BQ for costing and submission of the same.
• Study RFI/RFP documents, bid coordination may include preparing engineering standards, designs, and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, etc.
• Utilize cost methodologies, tools, and appropriate software models and provide expert knowledge in cost analysis, manufacturing processes, material/supplier comparison etc.
• Work proactively toward cost target objectives and sourcing strategy in collaboration with Strategic Buyers, Category Managers, NPI Teams, and R&D.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for the full scope of interacting with all internal and external stakeholders as required for the prototype.
• Listening to customers’ needs and advising them on the best products to buy.
• Support presales activities, proposal generation, product position, solution offering, and responding to technical clarifications in the tender.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers
Application Engineer Qualifications
· A Mechanical Engineering bachelor's degree (B.Tech, M.Tech, or equivalent).
· Minimum 3-4 years of experience in new product development.
· Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
· Proven experience in cost estimation and cost analysis
· Strong analytical skills.
