This is a contract, hybrid role for a Design Assistant, primarily based in Chicago, IL, with some flexibility for remote work. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Design Assistant to support our design team. This role is execution-focused and plays a critical part in bringing projects to life behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans and elevations
• Create and update finish schedules and project documentation
• Build and organize materials for client presentations (samples, spec sheets, pricing)
• Request and track vendor quotes, lead times, and product details
• Assist with sourcing on an as-needed basis to support the design team
• Support procurement and documentation within Studio Designer/Studio Webware
• Maintain organization across project files, selections, and materials
• Assist with installs, styling, and on-site project support
• Run local errands including sample pickups, returns, and vendor visits
• Provide general design team support to ensure projects move efficiently and accurately
Qualifications
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a professional interior design studio similar to ours
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Mac-based programs
• Working knowledge of Studio Webware and Outlook preferred
• Must have a valid driver's license and own a reliable car with daily access
