Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CATIA Design Engineer 2+ years of specializing in automotive plastic trims to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the design and development of interior and exterior plastic trim components for passenger vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop automotive plastic trim components (dashboard panels, door trims, pillar covers, consoles, etc.) using CATIA V5/V6.
• Prepare 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings in accordance with OEM standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including styling, tooling, manufacturing, and quality.
• Conduct feasibility studies and support DFMEA and DFM activities.
• Review and incorporate feedback from prototype builds and testing phases.
• Maintain comprehensive design documentation and BOM updates.
Key Skills & Requirements:
• Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in automotive plastic trims design.
• Proficient in CATIA V5/V6 — Part Design, Assembly, Surface Design (GSD), and Drafting modules.
• Good understanding of plastic materials, injection molding processes, and design for manufacturing principles.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred:
• Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
