Job Description
• Collaborate with the marketing team for cost estimation and preparation of technical proposals.
• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of forging components using CAD tools such as Inventor, SolidWorks, UG NX, DFOM, etc.
• Conduct feasibility studies, including forging reduction ratio calculations, material utilization analysis, and cut-weight calculations.
• Design forging dies, tooling, and fixtures in line with customer requirements and industry standards.
• Prepare complete die layouts, Bill of Materials (BOM), and process flow charts for forging operations.
• Coordinate with the production team during trials and provide technical support to resolve die/mould-related issues.
• Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
• Maintain revision control and proper documentation of all design-related records.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of forging processes, die design, material flow, and basic heat treatment concepts.
• Proficiency in CAD software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, UG NX, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Qualification & Experience
· Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
· 10–15 years of hands-on experience in forging design (hot forging experience preferred).
