OVERALL PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE OF THIS POSITION: The primary objective of a Design Engineer is to develop, design,and optimize engineering components, systems, or products in accordance with technical specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. MAJOR & MINOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare 2D and 3D drawings of piping components and assemblies using CAD software.
2. Design suitable piping components and equipment such as flanges, butt weld fittings, socket weld fittings, fasteners, piping spools, and ferrule fittings.
3. Ensure all designs comply with ASME and ASTM standards and applicable project specifications.
4. Select appropriate materials, dimensions, and design parameters as per engineering requirements.
5. Prepare detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
6. Review client specifications, technical drawings, and standards before starting the design.
7. Verify and approve the prepared drawings/designs before issuing them for production or client submission.
8. Coordinate with production and quality control teams to ensure the design is feasible for manufacturing.
9. Revise and update drawings based on inspection feedback, internal review, or client comments.
10. Maintain proper documentation and revision control of all design files.
11. Provide technical support during manufacturing, inspection, and project execution stages.
Requirements:
Good knowledge of ASME and ASTM standards related to piping components.
Experience in designing flanges, butt weld fittings, socket weld fittings, fasteners, Instrumentations Valves, Industrial piping spools, and ferrule fittings.
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or NX CAD)
Ability to review and approve engineering drawings independently
