Mission:
The aim of this position is develop designs for projects and modify existing products or designs to increase efficiency or improve performance.
Responsibilities:
• Increase operational productivity in the plastics operation.
• Design engineer new products with an emphasis on material selection, plastic part design and DFMA.
• Evaluating Lakeshore’s most common plastic materials with a focus on quality, cost, aesthetic, durability, function and safety.
• In partnership with Lakeshore Sourcing (US and Asia), build relationships with Lakeshore’s contract manufacturers and develop new relationships with raw material suppliers to improve quality, cost, aesthetic, durability, function and safety.
• Presenting plastic material options to team and executive management in product review meetings.
• Establishing and maintaining internal & external relationships, as well as promoting teamwork.
What we are looking for:
• B.E Mechanical/Automobile - Preferred, Diploma Mechanical/Automobile.
• 4+ Years in Automotive Plastic Interior Design, using Catia V5 Preferred, / UG NX (Additional Skill).
• Project Experience in Door Panels and IP.
• Understanding Phase of the Project.
• Concept Creation, Master Section Creation, Defining Split Line, Defining Interface between Parts is Must.
• Knowledge of Assembly Methods and Fixation Features is important.
• CATIA V5 Skills: Excellent Skill sets required in Sketcher, Part Design, Surfacing, Assembly Design, Power Copies and Macro ( Basic).
• Expected to have Fluency while working with Advanced and Updated Parametric Modeling in Catia V5 / UG NX.(Added Advantage).
• Master Section Creation / Modification / Auto Update with Parameter is the Key Requirement.
• Should be able to design Automotive Interior Plastic Products such as from given A-Surface to complete functional B-side with required feasibility studies.
• Self-Driven and Forecasting the Changes in the Product is essential.
• Excellent Verbal and written Communication with Team / Team Members / with Cross Functional Teams is required.
• Maintaining the Track for the Assigned Activities / Creating and Providing the Necessary Documentation with appropriate Presentation Skills.
