About the Role
Date Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a highly experienced Design Engineer (Electrical) with strong expertise in Solar EPC design, specifically in ground-mounted (≥10 MWp) and rooftop solar projects (≥1 MWp). The ideal candidate will independently lead engineering design, system configuration, analysis, documentation, and technical coordination for utility-scale and rooftop solar EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed site surveys, feasibility studies, and power evacuation analysis.
Perform solar resource assessment, energy generation estimation, and shadow analysis.
Develop plant layouts, DC/AC configurations, cable sizing, inverter/transformer selection, and substation design.
Prepare SLDs, GA drawings, BoM, DPR, costing sheets, and related technical documentation.
Ensure strict compliance with IEC, IS, and BIS standards.
Support and participate in site and factory acceptance tests (SAT/FAT) as required.
Lead, guide, and mentor the Design & Engineering team for efficient project execution.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, procurement, and internal teams.
Implement design optimization techniques and propose innovative engineering solutions.
Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainable practices in EPC engineering.
Requirements :
Experience: Minimum 7+ years in Solar EPC or Consultancy with proven hands-on experience in:
✔ Ground-mounted solar plants (≥10 MWp)
✔ Rooftop solar systems (≥1 MWp)
✔ Complete electrical design handled independently
Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering (M.Tech preferred).
Software Expertise:
PV simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst or equivalent)
AutoCAD (2D/3D), Google SketchUp
MS Office
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of electrical safety norms
System sizing, plant layout, cable calculations
Preparation of technical drawings and engineering documentation
Excellent knowledge of EPC workflows and engineering standards
