Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Jewellery Design Manager with specialised
expertise in Silver, Gold and lab-grown diamonds. The ideal candidate will have a deep
understanding of the design and production of high-quality jewellery using these materials,
and be proficient in creating laser cut personalised jewellery too. A solid grasp of
CorelDRAW and laser cutting techniques is essential for this role. As a key leader in our
design team, you will be responsible for conceptualising and managing the development of
bespoke jewellery collections that reflect our brand’s commitment to excellence and
innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Personalised Jewellery:
Design Management:
- Create and oversee the development of personalised jewellery designs using Corel Draw
and laser cutting technology.
- Ensure that the designs meet the highest standards of quality and precision.
Design Production:
- Manage the daily volume of designs sent for manufacturing, ensuring that targets are met
consistently.
- Coordinate closely with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless transition from design
to production.
Error Reduction & Quality Control:
- Identify and reduce errors in design through rigorous review processes.
- Implement strategies and tools to minimise mistakes and improve overall design accuracy.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and enhance design processes to increase efficiency and
effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to integrate new
techniques and tools.
Coordination & Communication:
- Seamless coordination with the manufacturing team to address any design-related issues
promptly.
- Foster effective communication between design and production departments to ensure
alignment and smooth operations.
Target Achievement:
- Meet and exceed weekly design targets and production deadlines.
- Prepare and plan for peak season orders to ensure timely fulfilment and optimal resource
allocation.
Design Expertise:
Lead the creation of exquisite jewellery collections featuring Silver, Gold
and Lab-grown diamonds. Ensure that designs are not only visually stunning but also
technically feasible and aligned with market trends.
Project Management: Manage design projects from initial concept through to final
production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Coordinate with
production teams to resolve any design or technical issues.
Trend Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, particularly in Silver, Gold and
Lab-grown diamonds, and incorporate these insights into the design process. Research and
implement new techniques and materials to keep our collections innovative and appealing.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, providing guidance and
support to foster a creative and collaborative work environment. Conduct regular design
reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, sales, and production departments to ensure
that designs align with brand strategies and customer needs. Participate in cross-functional
meetings to contribute design expertise and insights.
Quality Control: Oversee the prototyping and sampling processes to ensure that designs
meet the highest standards of quality. Address and resolve any issues that arise during
production.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Jewellery Design or a related field. Advanced certifications
or a Master’s degree in Jewellery Design or a related area are advantageous.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in jewellery design with a focus on Silver,
Gold and Lab-grown diamonds. At least 3 years of managerial experience with a proven
track record in creating personalised jewellery.
Skills:
- In-depth understanding of Silver, Gold and Lab-grown diamonds, including their properties
and market trends.
- Proficiency in CorelDRAW for jewellery design and detailed artwork.
- Extensive knowledge of laser cutting techniques and their application in jewellery design.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
