Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and creative Design Studio Manager to lead and oversee the design team in an interior fit-out company. This role involves managing the conceptualization, planning, and execution of innovative and functional interior designs, ensuring alignment with client expectations and project timelines. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in architecture or interior design, combined with proven leadership and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Leadership:
• Lead the design studio team in creating exceptional interior designs for commercial, residential, and retail fit-out projects.
• Develop creative design concepts, layouts, and space plans in collaboration with clients and the project team.
• Ensure designs align with client needs, budget constraints, and functionality.
• Stay updated with the latest trends, materials, and technology in the interior design and fit-out industry.
2. Team Management:
• Manage and mentor a team of designers, draftsmen, and visualizers to ensure productivity and quality.
• Assign tasks and oversee the design process from concept to delivery.
• Conduct regular design reviews to maintain high standards and innovative solutions.
3. Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
• Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and feedback.
• Present design concepts, mood boards, and detailed plans for client approval.
• Coordinate with the project management, procurement, and site execution teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
4. Project Coordination:
• Oversee the preparation of drawings, material boards, and presentations for projects.
• Review and approve technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Monitor project progress and resolve design-related challenges on-site.
5. Budget and Timeline Management:
• Prepare design budgets and ensure adherence to project timelines and costs.
• Optimize resources to achieve the highest efficiency and cost-effectiveness in the design process.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
Experience:
• 8+ years of experience in interior design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in the interior fit-out industry is a must.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop, and other design software.
• Strong knowledge of material specifications, furniture design, and construction methods.
Soft Skills:
• Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong presentation and client communication skills.
• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in high-end fit-out projects (hospitality, luxury retail, or commercial spaces).
• Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally friendly design practices.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
