About The Role
Due to an aggressive growth strategy for 2026 and to compliment the successful recruitment campaign for the development team in 2026, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Designer to join our team.

As the Designer, you will be an integral part of the Development Team, working with the Planning and Design Manager, to develop and communicate a design outcome to internal stakeholders.

You will work with 3D modelling and Photoshop to communicate best in class design standards for implementation during new and refurbishment works.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist the team to represent the agreed design vision into 3D models, renders, and images that can quickly convey project specific form, materiality, and ambience for cost and brief alignment.
Develop models and renders at various stages of refinement as the design progresses, to enable quick adaptation responding to review comments and building towards presentation quality images and 3D flythroughs.
Integrate individual design models with Revit and images with Photoshop to quickly contextualise for internal review and approval.
Make design recommendations regarding the implementation of the design standards into planning applications, cabin RFTs (building colours), and park refurbishments.
Make design recommendations regarding styling of accommodation through artwork and soft furnishings selections working with the P&D Manager and Procurement Officer.
3D rendering of examples of design standards including reception retail, amenities, camp kitchens, pools, cabin design, and styling to communicate the standards internally and externally, enhancing our design outcomes.
Work with the marketing team to develop site specific destination signage solutions, and integrated environmental graphics where required.
Understand technical performance requirements of materials, finishes, and products and assess for suitability against baseline performance specifications.
Be a champion of design standards and their role in supporting our WH&S, Marketing, Operations, Environmental, Revenue, and Development objectives.
Listen, engage, and communicate with team members in an open, authentic, and respectful manner.
Ensure you communicate regularly with your manager, on workload, progress of deliverables, any issues, and potential opportunities.
Assist with innovation and continuous improvement that is well resolved digitally and approved across multiple stakeholders before implementation.
Assist with the maintenance and communication of images of the style guide and design standards.
Respond to requests across the organisation for your skills in Photoshop and 3D rendering as they impact building design.
When developing design solutions, understand and integrate compliance with standards and regulations.
Prepare working drawings where required for D&C tendering, fabrication, and/or construction.
Assist with the integration and handover of internal design concepts to external consultants and D&C contractors for input, development of design, finalisation, and construction as the project requires.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge and insights with the design and planning team and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Implement effective and efficient work culture to enhance pre-planning, knowledge sharing, accountability, support, training, and mentoring to the delivery team in shaping best practice Project Management at Discovery.
About You
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications combined with experience in design, with a focus on value creation and customer experience.

You will have a working knowledge of best in practice standards, including compliance.

You will have a proven track record of managing multiple projects and stakeholder coordination.

You will be proficient in Revit, Photoshop, and Sketchup (or equivalent) with a working knowledge of other Adobe products.

You will have strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply commercial solutions with design-based principles.

Whilst technical proficiency is important to the role, you will also have the team attitude, soft skills, and capability to engage with a broad range of business stakeholders.

You will possess a high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative, and attention to detail to be successful in meeting the business demands at G'day Group.

Your naturally upbeat and open style will fit our cultural values.

You will have a highly organised mindset with the ability to assess the urgency of work allocated to you by various stakeholders.
