Full job description
MKSS GROUPS LIMITED, Auckland is looking for Devanner, full time role 30-40 hours per week.
As a Devanner you will be responsible for the safe and efficient unloading (devanning) of goods from shipping containers and vehicles, ensuring items are handled properly, sorted, and prepared for warehousing or distribution. The role requires physical fitness, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Safely unload goods from shipping containers, trucks, and trailers by hand or using mechanical equipment (e.g., pallet jacks or forklifts, if certified).
Inspect goods during devanning to identify any damage, discrepancies, or mislabelled items, and report issues to the supervisor.
Sort, count, and label products according to company procedures and client requirements.
Stack and arrange cartons or pallets in an orderly and safe manner within the warehouse.
Assist with inventory checks, data entry (manual or system-based), and documentation as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the unloading area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Follow all workplace health and safety guidelines, including correct manual handling techniques and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work collaboratively with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure timely completion of unloading and processing tasks.
Occasionally assist with general warehouse duties, such as picking, packing, or stock replenishment.
Skills and Qualifications:
Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and repetitive manual tasks.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Prior experience in warehousing or container devanning (preferred but not essential).
Forklift licence (optional, an advantage if available).
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early starts or weekends, if required.
