About the Department
Developer Engineering is a new function within ICG Technology. Our mission is to make it easy and enjoyable for development teams to go from a business idea to delivery of an innovative production solution. This will be done by improving and upgrading our tools, streamlining our processes, automating and strengthening our controls, and helping development teams adopt modern ways of working.
This new initiative represents a key investment in our future development capability. We are assembling an expert team to transform the working environment of the 18,000 people who make up the ICG development community and help them dramatically change their approach to developing software across the many different technologies we support. This is a challenging remit, but with the scale and variety comes a unique opportunity to be agents of cultural and technical change who have a huge impact on the bank.
About the Role
The Developer Team Coach for Developer Engineering contributes to the design and delivery of this major programme of cultural change across ICG Technology. The Developer Team Coaches will work with Senior Coaches who will be running workshops, seminars and events to drive lasting behaviour change in development. As well as formal sessions, coaches will provide dedicated support and guidance to individual development teams as needed. Developer Team coaches will be embedded into the development teams to provide cultural support and behaviour reinforcement from within for long periods (typically three to six months), as per need. This ensures that the behaviour changes which the workshops and seminars introduce are not lost when people return to their desks.
The Developer Team coaches will also help drive the Engineering Excellence programme which is a key tool in the support of our cultural goals. They will help ensure that EE remains the core of how we develop our best technical talent.
This role will report to the local Senior Agile Coach and be part of the global culture team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide dedicated support and guidance to individual teams from within their teams on a longer term basis (3-6 months) as needed, so as to continue sustainable behavior change after they come back from classroom events.
• Support the senior coach in classroom events, including workshops, hackathons, local site events.
• Demonstrate, promote and advocate the culture of continuous improvement, DevSecOps mindset, Agile practice when working with teams.
• Be well-aligned with senior coaches and supporting the EE vision; a key player in the rollout of the designed culture transformation programs.

Experience
• Excellent knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and other modern development practices.
• ******** knowledge of the development process, ideally from working in and/or running development teams in a banking environment
• Hands on skills and solid experience coaching teams throughout the development process
• Broad approach to Agility, ideally with hands on expertise coaching team in multiple Agile frameworks
• Some experience facilitating Agile based changed for distributed/remote teams
