Job Description
The Development & Events Manager is responsible for furthering the mission of Children’s Museum Tucson | Oro Valley by ensuring the success of the Museum’s fundraising efforts and community events. This position is responsible for the management of the Museum’s community days, facility rentals and annual fundraising events. As a member of the development team this position reports directly to the Director of Development and serves as an integral support for the development team throughout the year. This position is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of all Children’s Museum Tucson (CMT) events and manages event-related grants, sponsorships, and stewardship.
Primary Responsibilities and Results:
• Oversee coordination of all community free days, Evening of Play fundraiser, Community Partner rentals and Facility Rentals
• Write, manage and submit grants and sponsorships for Community & Fundraising Events
• Identify prospective Business Partners and Event Sponsors
• Oversee development coordinator
• Coordinate with Senior Manager of Guest Experience staff for event operations
• Manages all facility rentals, providing high quality customer service negotiating contracts and museum use agreements
• Plan, coordinate, and execute events from conception to completion, ensuring all details are managed effectively
• Coordinate with catering services, vendors, and museum staff to ensure seamless execution of all event logistics
• Develop contracts and agreements with vendors, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions
• Oversee on-site event management, including setup, coordination during the event, and breakdown afterward
• Manage donor records and utilize database tracking systems
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
• Three years’ experience in development, fundraising or events management required
Language Skills:
This position routinely interacts with co-workers, volunteers, sponsors, media, other departments, and the public.
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills required
Computer Skills:
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Working knowledge of a CRM database, Blackbaud Altru preferred
• Familiarity with social media and marketing tools to promote events and fundraising campaigns.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
