RESPONSIBILITIES
• The Technical Lead/Senior Developer will be responsible for building a strategic Prime Services platform using Java/Scala/Hadoop/Spark technology stack for batch and real-time data processing, Spring Boot microservices layer and React web front-end applications.
• Be responsible for leading a development squad in Bangalore, delivering high quality, performant and robust solutions, on time and within budget.
• Take ownership of the design, development and delivery of parts of the new platform.
• Liaise with other teams and external vendors to ensure quality releases into development, testing and production environments.
• Collaborate with Front Office and Product Owners in gathering requirements and translate into robust technology solutions.
• Adherence to standards mandated by SCB for project SDLC, deliver and execution
• Introduce industry best practices, tools, techniques, processes and methodologies which bring clear benefit
Our Ideal Candidate
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
• 10+ years of experience as a software engineer and/or as a manager, and at least 3+ years of experience managing a team of software engineers including identifying, hiring and developing top talent
• 8+ years of experience in application design and development using technologies like Java/JEE, Java Spring, REST API, microservices architecture
• 3+ years of experience in Bigdata technology experience like Hadoop/Hive/Spark and Scala.
• Proficient in solution design, design patterns, code quality and usage of software tools and techniques
• Familiar with Spark framework (Spark Batch Processing, Spark Streaming and Spark SQL).
• Good understanding of databases and SQL/No-SQL.
• Good understanding of integration technologies like SFTP, Webservices, Messaging using Tibco or MQ
• Familiar with DevOps tools like (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Rundeck etc.)
• Good communication & interpersonal skills.
• Possess a 'can-do' attitude and proactively seeking to overcome obstacles to deliver.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in running projects using Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban or XP
ROLE SPECIFIC TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Solution design and development expertise with Java/JEE, Java Spring, REST API, microservices
• Exposure to DevOps tool sets and techniques ( Atlassian Bamboo)
• Exposure to Prime Services, Exchange Traded Derivatives Clearing applications eg Clearvision, UBIX, XTP, GMI, Ransys, and/or FM Post Trade Systems.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
